Homes, apartments and small offices

We pack the hard parts and carry the rest.

Sora Dapple is a two-to-six person moving crew. Every job starts with a free walkthrough, so the crew size, the truck, the arrival window and the materials are agreed in writing before anyone lifts a box.

What we move

  • Studio flats through to four-bedroom houses
  • Small offices, studios and workshops
  • Single awkward items — sofas, pianos, tanks
  • Storage units in and back out again

Crew windows

  • Monday to Friday7:30 & 13:00
  • Saturday8:00 only
  • SundaySurveys
  • Office movesAfter 18:00

What we won't carry

  • Open paint, fuel, gas bottles or aerosols
  • Safes and machinery over 300 kg
  • Loose items still unpacked at the arrival window
  • Anything we both agree is not worth the trip
Service lanes

Four ways we turn up

Each lane has a fixed crew shape so you can picture the day before you enquire. If your move sits between two of them, the walkthrough decides which one it is.

Studio & apartment

Crew of two · 18ft truck · typically 3–5 hours

One load, one trip, lift or stairs confirmed in advance. Best for single people and couples who have packed their own boxes.

  • Blankets, straps and corner guards
  • Wardrobe boxes on loan for the day
  • Floor runners in both buildings
  • Bed and desk breakdown included

Full household

Crew of four · 26ft truck · one or two loads

Family homes with a loft, a garage and a garden shed. We work room by room against a numbered plan rather than clearing whatever is nearest the door.

  • Mattress bags and sofa wrap
  • Wardrobes and bed frames dismantled and rebuilt
  • Labelled room plan taped inside the new front door
  • Fragile crates loaded last, unloaded first

Office & studio

Evening crew · 26ft truck · numbered crate hire

Out-of-hours so your Monday opens normally. Crates are delivered two days ahead and collected the week after the move.

  • Desk breakdown and cable bagging per workstation
  • Monitor and server crates with foam inserts
  • Seat and crate numbers matched to a floor plan
  • Empty crates collected, no disposal left with you

Storage shuttle

Crew of two · pallet wrap · paper inventory

For the gap between completion dates. We load into your unit, photograph the stack and hand you the inventory sheet on the way out.

  • Written inventory, one line per item
  • Pallet wrap and raised boards under soft goods
  • Heavy items at the back, seasonal at the front
  • Return trip booked at the same rate

How it works

Four steps, nothing improvised

Most moving-day problems are planning problems. This is the order we work in and what you receive at each stage.

Walkthrough

Twenty minutes, room by room. We count the boxes you already have, measure the pieces that will argue with a doorway, check the lift dimensions and look at where a truck can legally stand at both ends.

Written plan

You get a one-page plan: crew size, truck size, arrival window, hours estimate, the materials list and the named awkward items. Nothing on the day comes as a surprise, and nothing is added without asking you first.

Moving day

Runners and door guards go down before the first box leaves. Each box carries a card naming the room it belongs in at the new place. Fragile crates load last so they come off first and stay out of the stacking.

Set-down

Beds rebuilt, wardrobes upright, white goods sited and levelled. Boxes land in the room named on the card rather than in one pile in the hall. We walk the old place with you, then take the empty crates and wrap away.

Transparent quoting

How your quote is built

Seven things move the number, and you can see all of them before you agree. Anything not on this list is not on your invoice.

Crew size
Two, four or six movers, set at the walkthrough and not changed on the day.
Truck size
18ft or 26ft. If a second load looks likely, we say so in the plan and quote it then.
Access
Lift or stairs, flights carried, and the walking distance from the legal parking spot to your door.
Packing level
Self-packed, part-packed by us the day before, or a full pack with the kitchen and glassware done by the crew.
Awkward items
Uprights, safes, aquariums, large art and anything needing a second pair of hands is listed and priced by name.
Materials
Boxes, tape and wrap are charged on what you actually use. Unopened bundles come back with the truck.
Waiting time
Key handover delays are held at the standby rate, not the full working crew rate.

No weekend surcharge. No fuel line. No charge for the walkthrough, booked or not.

Field notes

Six things the crew wishes you knew

You do not have to pack at all — but if you are packing, these six habits save the most time on the day.

Living room with a pale sofa, cushions and shelving ready to be wrapped and loaded
  • 01Tape the base of every box twice, across and along. Nearly every box that fails, fails at the bottom seam while it is being lifted.
  • 02Books and tools go in the smallest boxes you own. A large box of books is a two-person lift and slows the whole chain.
  • 03Pack one "first night" box per person — bedding, charger, kettle, medication — and tell us, so it rides in the cab.
  • 04Photograph the back of the television and the router before anything is unplugged. It is five minutes now or an hour later.
  • 05Screws and brackets go in a freezer bag taped to the frame they came from, not in one shared tin.
  • 06Leave a clear run of floor from the front door to the street. A clear path is worth more to the clock than an extra mover.

Tell us where you are going and roughly when. We reply with a survey time, not a guessed price.

  • Surveys run on weekday evenings and Sundays.
  • The walkthrough takes about twenty minutes.
  • You receive the written plan the next working day.
  • Nothing is held until you confirm the plan.
  • Dates can move once at no cost, up to seven days out.
We use your details only to arrange the survey and the written plan.
Questions

Asked on most surveys

Do I have to be there on the day?

Someone who can make decisions should be at both ends — usually you, sometimes a friend or an agent. The crew will ask where things go and whether borderline items are coming. If you cannot be present, leave a marked plan and a reachable contact, and we will work to it.

What happens if the keys are late?

It is the most common delay in the trade and we plan for it. The loaded truck waits at the standby rate rather than the full crew rate, and the crew takes its break during the wait so no working time is lost once the keys land.

Are my things covered while they are on the truck?

Goods in transit cover is included for every booked move and the limit is printed on your written plan. Items you packed yourself are covered for transit damage but not for breakage inside a sealed box we did not pack — which is why part-packing exists.

Can I pack some rooms and leave the rest to you?

Yes, and it is the most popular option. Most people pack the wardrobes and the bookshelves, then hand over the kitchen, the glassware and the loft. Tell us which rooms at the walkthrough and the part-pack is scheduled for the afternoon before.

What if the truck cannot park near the door?

We check this during the walkthrough and tell you honestly if a permit, a suspended bay or a shuttle van is needed. A long carry changes the hours, so it belongs in the plan rather than appearing as a surprise line afterwards.

Can you store everything for a few weeks between dates?

Yes. We load your unit, photograph the stack and hand over a written inventory, then bring it back when the new place is ready. The return trip is booked at the same crew rate as the outbound load, agreed when you first book.
